A modest Cape in the middle of a large suburban lot becomes a substantial house and garden in this design for an architect’s home and office. DDA ’s design features a front rectilinear lawn panel framed by u-shaped gravel driveway.North of the drive, a raised perennial garden retained by a Jeffersonian serpentine turf allee winds its way to the house’s rear, where it joins a dining terrace, spa, swimming pool and terraced lawn. Completing the loop around the house is a garage ell and gravel service yard. This ambitious landscape master plan is guiding the architect through several development phases.
