Woods had encroached upon this Berkshire lakeside retreat, diminishing the arrival area and substantially blocking views to the water. Lake access was hindered, as well, by precipitous steps from an elevated deck. DDA’s design for this property opens views by selective clearing and new boardwalk to an improved beach front. New steps and re-graded lawn offer greater ease and convenience for the trek from deck to beach. Vines and a new trellis screen the deck’s underside. In the front, improved parking and a new dooryard garden enclosed by a fieldstone wall creates a gracious arrival.
